At a ceremony attended by Assemblymember Laura Friedman and Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, HCHC’s Coronel Apartments in East Hollywood received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification at the Platinum level – the highest distinction awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council. The building, designed by KFA Architecture, includes several environmentally sustainable features including solar thermal water heating, drought-tolerant landscaping, and energy efficient lighting and appliances. HCHC is honored to receive this distinctive recognition and will continue to do its part to fulfill its mission by creating affordable housing projects that are environmentally sustainable and that respect and enhance the character of the surrounding neighborhoods.
