Position Title: Food Pantry Volunteer

Position Summary

Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) is a non-profit developer of permanent, affordable housing serving low-income families, people living with HIV/AIDS and senior citizens. HCHC is in search of two volunteers to assist in our Food Pantry, which is open Thursdays 3:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.  

Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Assist with inventory of the food received and food distributed in a weekly basis, every Thursday from 2:30p.m. – 5:00p.m.
  • Sort donated food, inspect, and pack perishable and non-perishable food for distribution.
  • Assist in putting together grocery bags to be distributed.
  • Greets participants and take basic information for reporting purposes.
  • Maintains work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist with the food pantry coverage and related tasks as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities


Preferred Experience

Previous experience working with food pantry preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires an individual may need to lift up to 40 pounds. 

Work Environment

The essential responsibilities of this position are performed in a busy food pantry environment near our main office.
