A portion of the site for 14th Street Senior Housing is currently owned by the City of Santa Monica and HCHC was selected by the City Council through a competitive process initiated in 2023. The adjacent site at 1402 Wilshire Blvd is under contract and will be a private acquisition by HCHC. In May 2024, HCHC entered into an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) with the City of Santa Monica. Kevin Daly Architects has been selected as the architect for this combined 25,000 square foot site located on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and 14th Street. The approved project concept is to develop 82 units of affordable rental housing and a majority of the apartments will have 1-bedrooms. Two of the apartments will be reserved for the onsite managers and the remaining 80 apartments will serve households earning between 30% and 60% of area median income. The site will also include 41 parking spaces for residents, bicycle storage, on-site laundry, a community room, a rooftop terrace and offices for resident services staff.
